GigglePhonics is an educational app designed to help young children learn phonics in English and Hindi. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
GigglePhonics does not require account creation and does not collect any personally identifiable information (name, email address, phone number, or similar) from users.
The following non-personal, technical information may be collected automatically through third-party services:
Device information – device model, operating system version, and app version.
Usage data – which screens are visited and which buttons are tapped (e.g., retry button interactions).
Crash and diagnostic data – error logs to help us fix bugs and improve app stability.
Advertising identifiers – used by Google AdMob to serve in-app advertisements.
No microphone, camera, location, contacts, or storage permissions are requested by this app.
2. How We Use This Information
To deliver and improve the app's educational content and features.
To identify and fix crashes and technical issues.
To understand broad usage patterns so we can make the app better for learners.
To display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any collected data to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
GigglePhonics uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google Firebase Firestore – stores and delivers the app's educational content (letter sounds, example words) over a secure HTTPS connection. No user data is written to Firestore. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
GigglePhonics is intended for use by young children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We take children's privacy seriously.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The app does not include social features, chat, or user-generated content.
No account registration is required.
Third-party advertising (Google AdMob) is configured to comply with Google's Families Policy for apps primarily directed at children.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately at the email below and we will delete it promptly.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their child's use of the app and to contact us with any concerns.
5. Data Retention
Analytics and crash data collected by Firebase is retained according to Google's default retention policies (up to 14 months for Analytics, 90 days for Crashlytics). This data is aggregated and not linked to any individual user.
A local cache of educational content is stored on the device solely to allow the app to function offline. This cache contains only app content (letter data, sounds) and no personal information. It can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in device settings.
6. Data Security
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. We follow industry-standard security practices; however, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Opt out of personalised ads – you can reset or opt out of the advertising identifier in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking).
Delete local data – uninstall the app or clear app data via device settings to remove all locally cached content.
Data deletion requests – contact us at the email below and we will assist with any data deletion requests related to Firebase services.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
